The representative office of Cisco at NTU “KhPI” works on the basis of the department “Information systems named after V.O. Kravets” for fifteen years. The purpose of the program is to provide knowledge of the basics of PC hardware and software, network technologies, cyber security, etc. Training in such centers takes place according to e-learning programs with personalized assessment and practical opportunities – laboratory, network modeling, competitions and hackathons.
In addition, Cisco at NTU “KhPI” is the Support Center (Cisco ASC) of other networked simple training centers that work in schools and universities in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
In 2018, the Cisco academy “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was awarded the title “Premier Academy Support Center” . Premier status is given for the quality of education, support of Cisco academies and the number of students. It is received by about 10% of organizations working as Centers for training instructors and supporting this program in the world.
In 2020, the central office of the Cisco company (USA, San Jose, California) conducted an evaluation competition among its support centers around the world and determined a list of the best offices. More than a thousand institutions took part, including Cisco Academy “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. According to the results of the assessment, the center at NTU “KhPI” was recognized for the number of participants and the quality of online education and professional development in 2020 and was ranked among the thirty best in the world. Among the merits of the Cisco Academy “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” is the organization of another 37 Cisco network training centers in several regions of Ukraine, where school teachers, teachers of technical colleges and universities received training and internships.
Programs for training include network technologies, operating systems (OS) and IT, programming, the Internet of Things, cyber security and infrastructure automation. Graduates of these courses will be able to obtain an international Cisco certificate.
Anyone can become a student of courses at the Academy of Cisco Network Technologies “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. The format of classes is individual training based on the department “Information Systems named after V.O. Kravets” , free use of Cisco Academy courses for teaching disciplines in educational institutions. Courses are available for citizens with different levels of knowledge – from beginner to advanced.

Since 1996, the company has been creating an international network of academies for the training of specialists, training in which is carried out according to a single program. The CISCO Academy at NTU “KhPI” was created under a NATO grant in 2007 on the basis of the department “Information Systems named after V.O. Kravets“.
The Cisco Networking Academy is the longest running and largest corporate social responsibility program. It provides advanced IT training programs for students of all majors, teaching them the practical technical and business skills they need to succeed. At the moment, there are more than 15 thousand simple training centers in the world, as well as more than a thousand support centers (Cisco ASC), which oversee and organize the training process in the regions.
The Cisco Academy “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” is a member of the organizing committees of many all-Ukrainian initiatives of the Cisco company , which are aimed at raising the level of awareness and improving the competencies of schoolchildren, teachers, students, lecturers in the field of information technologies and cyber security.
