Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy – Department of Information Systems named after V. A. Kravets

On the basis of the department of information systems of NTU “KhPI” named after V.O.Kravets”. The partner educational center “Palo Alto Academy of Cyber Security” has been opened in Kravtsia. Students, teachers, professionals who work in the IT sphere, and everyone who wants to have the opportunity to take practical courses in cyber security. They will be able to learn the basics of this field: network and cloud security, how the Security Operations Center (SOC) functions, and more. Classes can be attended face-to-face or remotely. The duration of the courses is up to 2 months, the language of instruction is English. Instructors of the programs will be teachers of Kharkiv Polytechnic.

The course materials were developed by the American company Palo Alto Networks. They include: information for instructors, kits for students, presentations, videos, manuals, etc.

Students of the Academy at NTU “KhPI” will study:

set up the necessary development environment to start creating firewalls (“internet screen” to protect the information system from outside attacks),
deploy and configure a firewall on a cloud server,
control the flow of packets through firewalls,
configure quality of service (QoS) management in data transmission networks, and other skills.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive certificates of completion of the course and a discount on the certification exam at the company’s independent center. Graduates of the programs will be able to become specialists in network operations, system security analysts, and cyber security analysts.

Classes at the Kharkiv Polytechnic will be held under the guidance of instructors – associate professors of the department “Information Systems named after V.O. Kravets” by Nataliia Dzheniuk and Maksym Tolkachov. They underwent specialized training and received “Authorized Network Security Instructor” accreditation certificates.

The training programs are aligned with the US National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE).
