XI CONFERENCE “DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN UKRAINIAN SOCIETY IN THE SOCIOLOGICAL DIMENSION”
On December 13, 2024, the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Development of Modern Ukrainian Society in the Sociological Dimension” was held at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Department of Sociology and Public Administration.
The scientific and practical conference was organized by the Department of Sociology and Public Administration with the direct support of the leadership of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Technologies. The strategic objectives of the event were: expanding scientific dialogue and in-depth analysis of modern problematic issues in the field of social and humanities, comprehensive study and systematization of management practices at the domestic and international levels, formation of constructive recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of educational processes in higher education institutions, optimization of mechanisms for the functioning of state institutions and local self-government bodies, creation of an international platform for professional communication of scientists, establishment of mutual exchange of research experience and presentation and publication of the most relevant scientific developments of the conference participants. This format of the event ensured a comprehensive discussion of current socio-humanitarian problems and contributed to the development of international scientific cooperation.
Before the start of the conference, a solemn part was held, during which the head of the Department of Sociology and Public Administration of NTU “KhPI”, Professor Volodymyr Moroz, awarded the best students of the department for their achievements in educational, scientific and public activities. The awarding emphasized the high level of training of students and their active participation in the life of the department.
The International Scientific and Practical Conference, which was held in a mixed format, was attended by more than eighty scientists, postgraduates and students of leading higher education institutions from abroad and various regions of Ukraine. In particular, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Wuhan, China), V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, M. E. Zhukovsky National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and others.
The conference was opened by the head of the Department of Sociology and Public Administration, Professor Volodymyr Moroz, who delivered a keynote speech dedicated to the glorious 60-year history of the department, modern achievements of the teaching staff and plans for the future.
After the plenary session, the conference participants continued the discussion at the sectional sessions in the following areas:
1. Modern social problems: sociological dimension.
2. Problems of youth, students and education in modern Ukrainian society.
3. Digital communications in the development of the individual and society.
4. Mechanisms of public management of socio-economic and socio-political development.
The results of the conference demonstrated a high level of professional dialogue and constructive exchange of views. Particular emphasis was placed on the content and relevance of the presented reports, which caused lively discussions and deep professional discussions. The conference participants hope that the agreements reached and the recommendations developed will become a powerful impetus for the further development and transformation of Ukrainian society.
