NTU “KhPI” has a bright, rich sports history. Sport in NTU “KhPI” started its active development with the foundation of the Polytechnic sports club in 1957. The opening of the modern sports complex “Polytechnic” has expanded opportunities for new sports.

NTU “KhPI” has created conditions for the successful training of high-level athletes who achieve high results in national and international competitions.

 

 

NTU “KhPI” is proud of its Olympians. These are two-time Olympic champion Oleksii Barkalov (water polo), Olympic champion Ihor Tselovalnikov (cycling), Olympic champion Yana Dementieva (rowing), Paralympic champion Andrii Zhyltsov (athletics), bronze medallist of the Olympic Games Oleksandr Serdiuk (archery), Olympic silver medallist Olena Voronina (fencing), Paralympic silver and bronze medallist Ihor Nimchenko (swimming), Olympic participants Gennadii Bliznetsov, Ihor Bodrov, Liliia Harkavaya (Tkachenko), Oleksandr Kaidash, Vitalii Kyrylenko, Oleksandra Ryzhkova, Andrii Tverdostup, Marharyta Dorodon (athletics), Dmytro Zavadskyi, Polina Buhrova (badminton).

 

The University also has dozens of World and European champions, winners and prize-winners of Grand Prix, international tournaments and match meetings, winners of World and European Cups, dozens of internationally renowned masters of sports of Ukraine and several Honoured Masters of Sports of Ukraine!

 

 

 

Every year, Polytechnic athletes win medals in Ukrainian and world sports arenas in various sports, both Olympic and more non-traditional.

 

 

We are proud of the sporting victories of our students, and we invite you to test yourself and try to conquer the highest sporting peaks with us! And even if you are not going to reach the Olympic heights in sports, you are quite capable of unlocking your sporting potential and proving yourself in your chosen sport.
