The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Business was established in November 2021 by reorganizing the Department of Business Analytics, Accounting and Hotel and Restaurant Business. The Department is headed by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Natalia Vasylivna Yakymenko-Tereshchenko.

The goal of the department is to promote the harmonious development of the individual and ensure the training of a new generation of professionals who possess modern economic and managerial thinking, theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the successful implementation of economic, organizational and managerial, design, production and technological activities in the field of tourism and hotel and restaurant business.

The main principles of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Business:

  • ensuring compliance with European and national quality standards of higher education;
  • student-centered approach to learning;
  • involvement of practicing professionals, industry experts, and employer representatives in classroom sessions;
  • ensuring academic integrity;
  • free access for higher education students to the infrastructure and information resources necessary for learning;
  • organizational, informational, advisory, and social support for higher education students.

 

The department trains students in full-time and part-time forms of study in specialties:

Applicants are trained at the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education according to educational programs:

  • Educational program “Hotel and Restaurant Business” (Bachelor’s)
  • Educational program “Hotel and Restaurant Business” (Bachelor’s)
  • Educational program “Tourism Business” (Bachelor’s)
  • Educational program “Tourism and Recreation” (Bachelor’s)
  • Educational program “Hotel and Restaurant Business” (Master’s)

Students of the department receive a modern education in the field of “Service Industry”, which will allow them to find work in leading national and international companies in the following positions:

  • hospitality specialist (hotels, tourist complexes, etc.);
  • hospitality specialist in accommodation facilities (hotels, tourist complexes, etc.)
    hotel specialist;
  • restaurant specialist;
  • tourist service specialist;
  • leisure organization specialist;
  • rural tourism development specialist;
  • organizer of tourism and hotel activities;
  • hotel service specialist;
  • specialized service specialist;
  • organizer of tourism and hotel activities;
  • conference service specialist;
  • travel consultant and travel organizer;
  • tourism agents;
  • other management specialists (tourism inspector).

The department has close ties with leading service companies both in Ukraine and abroad. Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and deepen their skills in the specialty.

The teaching staff of the department is a team of professionals and creative individuals who, striving for constant improvement of the educational process, introduce modern approaches to teaching disciplines, the most modern types of educational activities, and involve students in participating in various cognitive, scientific, research, and sports extracurricular activities.
