Master (Latin magister – teacher) is an educational degree obtained at the second level of higher education and awarded by a higher education institution as a result of the successful completion by a higher education applicant of an educational and professional program, the volume of which is 90–120 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) or an educational and scientific program, the volume of which is 120 ECTS credits.
The second (master’s) level of higher education corresponds to the seventh level of the National Qualifications Framework and provides for the acquisition by a person of theoretical knowledge and practical skills and abilities sufficient for the successful performance of professional duties in the chosen specialty.
