Professional Development Course “Genetics, Breeding, Agrotechnology and Processing of Oilseed Crops”

The staff of the Department of Biotechnology, Biophysics and Analytical Chemistry completed advanced training within the framework of professional development courses for researchers of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and academic staff of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which were held at the Institute of Oilseed Crops of NAAS on March 3–6, 2026. The topic of the courses was “Genetics, Breeding, Agrotechnology and Processing of Oilseed Crops.”

Within the program, participants became acquainted with modern approaches to the genetics and breeding of oilseed crops, the use of plant genetic resources, the development of sunflower hybrids, the peculiarities of cultivation and phenotyping of crops, as well as technologies for the processing of niche oilseed crops and modern agrotechnological solutions. Separate lectures were devoted to issues of plant protection against diseases and pests, interspecific hybridization, planning and organization of scientific research, as well as the use of modern scientific information platforms.

The knowledge and practical recommendations obtained will contribute to the improvement of the educational process, updating the content of academic disciplines, and the development of the department’s research activities, particularly in the field of biotechnology of plant raw materials and biotechnological processing of biologically active substances.

Upon completion of the training and successful passing of the final online test, the participants received certificates of advanced professional training.
