Student success stories often begin with unexpected opportunities, but it is initiative and a willingness to take on challenges that turn them into meaningful achievements. One such story is the professional journey of Ania Kornet, a student of group KN-1223a at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, who successfully completed an internship at Kharkiv IT Cluster.
Ania learned about the internship opportunity through the Institute’s Telegram channel. At that time, she was a second-year student in the “Computer Science. Artificial Intelligence and Project Management” educational program and had no prior commercial experience. Despite certain doubts, she decided to apply, viewing the selection process as an opportunity to step outside her comfort zone and gain practical experience.

Although her expectations were modest, the outcome exceeded them: the Kharkiv IT Cluster team recognized Ania’s potential and invited her to join the internship program. Starting with basic tasks, she gradually took on greater responsibility and more complex assignments, allowing her to adapt to real working processes and experience steady professional growth.
A key factor in this progress was consistent mentorship support. Throughout the internship, Ania received guidance, constructive feedback, and assistance in challenging situations. This supportive environment fostered confidence, discipline, and a professional attitude toward task execution.
Beyond developing practical skills in content creation, project activities, and student initiatives, the internship provided valuable experience in communicating with diverse target audiences. Ania interacted with school students and applicants, university students and parents, young professionals, IT specialists, educators, representatives of IT companies, business, government institutions, and the wider IT community. This experience significantly broadened her understanding of communication and real-world industry processes.

According to Ania, the internship taught her not to fear responsibility, to take initiative, and to believe in her abilities even when experience is still limited. This year became an important milestone in both her professional and personal development.
Ania Kornet’s story clearly demonstrates how an active student mindset, a supportive academic environment, and strong cooperation with the IT industry create real opportunities for growth already during university studies.
