From the University Classroom to the IT Industry: Students Meet with a GlobalLogic Expert at NTU “KhPI”

A meeting dedicated to career development opportunities in the IT industry, the acquisition of relevant professional competencies, and bridging the gap between university education and the practical needs of today’s labour market was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology of NTU “KhPI”.

The event was moderated by Iryna Shuba, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technology Project Management.

The meeting brought together NTU “KhPI” students, young people interested in IT education, and students majoring in information technology.

The keynote speaker was Maksym Voronyi, Senior Solution Architect at GlobalLogic and Associate Professor of the Department of Information Technology Project Management (ITPM) at NTU “KhPI”.

His combined experience in the IT industry and academic teaching provided an opportunity to explore the professional development of future specialists from both the employers’ perspective and the standpoint of contemporary higher education.

Participants learned more about working in an IT company, the professional competencies required to develop technological solutions, and the importance of practical experience in becoming a competitive specialist.

An important part of the meeting was the presentations delivered by students of the Department of Information Technology Project Management. They shared their personal learning experiences and spoke about opportunities to develop professional skills, participate in international programmes, and get involved in educational and professional initiatives.

The students’ stories highlighted the importance of taking an active role in one’s education, independently mastering new tools, working in teams, and being committed to continuous professional development.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities offered by the university environment for developing practical competencies and preparing students for future careers in the IT sector.

The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between the university, the IT industry, and the professional community. This format helps students better understand employers’ expectations, identify their own professional development paths, and recognise the value of practical training.

For prospective students, the event provided an opportunity to learn more about IT education, explore degree programmes in technology-related fields, and discover future career opportunities.

The Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology and the Department of Information Technology Project Management at NTU “KhPI” continue to create opportunities for young people’s professional development, strengthen cooperation with IT companies, and contribute to educating specialists capable of meeting the challenges of the digital world.
