In Memory of Our Student Vladlen Sabina

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the confirmed death of our student Vladlen Serhiiovych Sabina, who stood up to defend Ukraine.

Vladlen was born on August 8, 2004. In 2021, he enrolled at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” and became a member of the student community (KN-321a group) of the Department of Strategic Management, renamed in May 2025 as the Department of Project Management in Information Technologies.

In 2023, Vladlen interrupted his studies and went to the front to defend Ukraine, its independence, and its future.

He served as a rifleman in an airborne assault squad of an airborne assault battalion of a military unit. On April 29, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk District, Donetsk Region, Vladlen went missing.

Sadly, in October 2025, his death was officially confirmed. He was only 19 years old.

For his courage and devoted performance of his military duty, Vladlen Sabina was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” III Class.

The faculty and students of the Department extend their deepest condolences to Vladlen’s family and loved ones. We share your immeasurable grief and bow our heads in sorrow.

We will remember Vladlen as our student, a courageous defender, and a young man who gave his life for the freedom of Ukraine.
