April 26, 2026 – World Intellectual Property Day
In Ukraine, as throughout the world, World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated on April 26. This holiday was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to emphasize the role of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs in the development of innovation and creativity.
In order to raise awareness among students about the role and importance of intellectual property in modern society, as well as to develop their professional competencies, an event dedicated to Intellectual Property Day was held on April 22.
Students of the educational and scientific institutes of KN, SGT, HT took an active part in the preparation and holding of the event. The event was held under the leadership of moderators Prof. Perevalova L.V. and Assoc. Prof. Gariaeva G.M.
The event program included: presentations and reports on current issues of intellectual property; discussion of legal aspects of copyright and related rights protection; analysis of modern challenges in the field of intellectual property, in particular in the context of digitalization; interactive discussions and exchange of views between participants.
Students presented prepared materials in the form of multimedia presentations, which covered the following topics:
- History of the formation and development of intellectual property;
- Objects of copyright and related rights;
- Rights of subjects of copyright and related rights;
- Copyright protection on the Internet;
- Combating plagiarism in scientific and educational activities;
- Legal protection of inventions;
- International experience in protecting intellectual property rights;
- and others.
During the event, participants demonstrated a high level of training, the ability to work with information sources, analyze legislation, and form reasoned conclusions.
The event was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, contributed to the activation of the cognitive activity of the students, the development of their communication skills and the formation of legal culture. The event had an important educational and educational significance.
