About the academies at the department

REFERENCE

 

The following certified laboratories operate at the National Technical University “KhPI”.

 

  1. Cisco Network Technologies Academy

In 2007, at the initiative of V.O. Kravets, the Cisco Network Technologies Academy “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was established at NTU “KhPI”. The Academy trains students within the framework of educational programs for specialties 122 “Computer Science”, 123 “Computer Engineering”, 172 “Electronic Communications and Radio Engineering” and within the framework of optional classes for students, teachers of various educational institutions, employees of provider companies, etc.

Training is conducted by certified Cisco instructors – teachers of the Department of “Information Systems named after V.O. Kravets”.

Cisco Academy course areas: network technologies, operating systems, programming, cybersecurity, Internet of Things.

The Cisco Academy is located in the auditorium 24 of the Evening Building and has the necessary equipment for conducting practical classes in network technologies, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things.

 

  1. PaloAlto Cybersecurity Academy

A partner educational center “PaloAlto Cybersecurity Academy” was opened on the basis of the Department of Information Systems of NTU “KhPI” in 2019. Here, students, teachers, specialists working in the IT field, and everyone interested have the opportunity to take practical courses in cybersecurity. They will be able to learn the basics of this area – network and cloud security. The instructors of the academy programs are teachers of NTU “KhPI”. The Academy is located in the auditorium of the 24th Evening Building.

The course materials were developed by the American company PaloAlto Networks. They include: information for instructors, student kits, presentations, videos, manuals, etc.

The curricula are aligned with the US National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE).

 

  1. Digital Competence Center dComFra

As part of the grant, a center for training and international certification in digital literacy ICDL was opened

Teaching areas at basic, intermediate and advanced levels:

– working with a computer

– using application programs

– programming.

The classes are conducted by teachers of the Department of “Information Systems named after V.A. Kravets”, who have passed ICDL certification

 

  1. GameHub Computer Game Development Laboratory

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 “GameHub” project, a computer game development laboratory was created. The laboratory is located in the auditorium 23 of the Evening Building and is engaged in training students, lecturers, school teachers and other interested persons in courses dedicated to the development of computer games on the Unity 3D engine. The laboratory courses are integrated into the educational process of students of NTU “KhPI”.
