Guest lecture by tourism and hospitality practitioner Oleksandr Kovalenko

On March 17, 2026, a guest lecture was held on the topic: “Inclusive (barrier-free) tourism as a tool for sustainable development of tourist destinations during the post-war recovery period.”

🎤 Speaker — Oleksandr Kovalenko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Tourism of Sumy National Agrarian University, founder of the tourist and excursion project “No One Is Missing in Sumy” and Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Tourism Development of Regions.”

The event was attended by more than 100 participants — higher education students and teachers of marketing, tourism and management specialties.

🌍 The geography of the participants covered various regions of Ukraine, including:

  • Khmelnytskyi (Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law, Khmelnytskyi National University)
  • Kharkiv (Kharkiv Polytechnic National Technical University)
  • Lviv (Lviv University of Trade and Economics)
  • Sumy (Sumy National Agrarian University, Sumy Vocational College of SNAU)
  • Putivl (Putivl Vocational College of SNAU)
  • Kyiv (Academy of Labor, Social Relations and Tourism)
    💡 The lecture considered:
  • the role of inclusive tourism in the restoration of regions;
  • the formation of a barrier-free environment as an element of the competitiveness of destinations;
  • modern practices for the development of sustainable tourism in Ukraine.
    🤝 Participants actively participated in the discussion, asked questions and exchanged practical experience.

📈 The event demonstrated a high level of interest in the topic of sustainable and inclusive tourism development, as well as the importance of inter-university cooperation in the training of future specialists.
