70th Anniversary of Professor Yaroslav Mykolayovych Pytak, Head of the Department

On December 27, 2023, Professor Yaroslav Mykolayovych Pytak, an academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Head of the Department of Refractories, Glass, and Enamels at NTU “KhPI,” celebrates his 70th birthday and 45 years of scientific and pedagogical activity. For 45 years, Yaroslav Mykolayovych has worked at Kharkiv Polytechnic, progressing from assistant to the head of the department. His active life position, vast experience, and creative approach to solving various tasks allow him to conduct pedagogical, organizational, and research work at a high level.

Professor Y.M. Pytak is the founder of the internationally renowned scientific school in the field of “Physicochemical Foundations of the Structure of Multicomponent Oxide Systems,” which forms the basis for the training of highly qualified engineering and technical personnel and scientists in Ukraine and abroad. Under his guidance, 9 candidates of technical sciences and over 1,000 highly skilled specialists have been trained. His scientific achievements include over 450 publications, 4 educational manuals approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 2 monographs, and dozens of author’s certificates and patents. He is a member of two specialized councils for doctoral dissertation defenses and a member of the editorial and publishing board of the “A.S. Berezhny Refractory Research Institute.”

Yaroslav Mykolayovych is an outstanding example of combining an authoritative scientist, a talented organizer, a highly skilled and experienced educator, and a person devoted to his beloved work and the university. For his scientific and pedagogical achievements, Professor Y.M. Pytak has been awarded the Honorary Certificate and the “Excellence in Education” badge by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Yaroslav Mykolayovych is an incredibly positive and optimistic person. His sincere smile, good humor, and humanity create a truly familial, warm atmosphere in the department, which always feels his help and support.
