The head of the Department of Computer Modeling of Processes and Systems, Professor D.V. Breslavsky and Associate Professor O.A. Tatarinova took part in the scientific symposium “Creep in Structures VI”, which took place on September 18-22 in Germany, at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The symposium is organized by IUTAM (International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics) once every ten years. This is a unique event that gathers experts in the field of research and mathematical modeling of processes of long-term deformation and destruction of materials and structural elements from all over the world. Ukraine was represented only by representatives of NTU “KhPI”.

D.V. Breslavsky’s report was devoted to methods of computer modeling of the long-term behavior of nuclear reactors’ elements intrabody equipment developed at our university. In them, complex loading and heating conditions are supplemented by radiation exposure. Such calculation methods are necessary to ensure the safety of nuclear power plant reactors.

In the report, O.A. Tatarinova spoke about the methods developed together with her colleagues from the Otto von Goericke University for the analysis of creep and destruction of the blades of gas turbine engines, which allow identifying dangerous modes of operation and providing the necessary resource.
