On Saturday, August 30, 2025, a meeting of freshmen of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Power Engineering, Electronics and Electromechanics (IES PEEE) of NTU “KhPI” was held in the shelter under the University Library. The event gathered first-year students who are currently staying in Kharkiv.
Although the academic year will begin in an online format, this meeting provided an excellent opportunity for students to get acquainted with the University, their peers, and future academic life before the start of classes.
Program of the event:
- Welcome address by the Director of the Institute — Roman Serhiiovych Tomashevskyi
- Festive performance by the show band “Suziria” of the Students’ Palace
- Presentation of academic programs and departments — introduction to heads of departments, academic advisors, and deputy directors
- Meetings with student organizations:
- Student Trade Union Organization (benefits, support, and opportunities)
- Student Council of ISEEE (student life and representation in academic matters)
- Student Scientific Society Electrolium (for those passionate about technology, science, and innovation)
- Q&A session — answers to the most relevant questions of freshmen
- Informal networking: tea, coffee, photo zone, and socializing — a perfect chance to make friends before classes begin
The Deputy Director for Academic and Educational Work, Olha Anatoliivna Butova, expressed her sincere gratitude to all academic advisors and senior curators for their active participation in organizing the event. She emphasized that their involvement in engaging freshmen is not only organizational support but also an important contribution to building trust and motivation among students from the very first days of their studies. She also wished for the same welcoming atmosphere at the official Matriculation Ceremony on September 1, 2025.
The Director of IES PEEE, Roman Serhiiovych Tomashevskyi, joined in expressing his appreciation to department heads and advisors for their dedication to integrating freshmen into university life. He highlighted that, despite constant challenges, NTU “KhPI” continues to provide safe opportunities for students to communicate, develop, and acquire practical skills directly at the University.
