Our Graduates Are Our Pride!

We are pleased to share feedback and information about a graduate of the Department, class of 2016 (group ЕМБ-20Б) – Viacheslav Kisil.

Good day to everyone, friends! I would like to share my thoughts about studying at NTU “KhPI,” particularly at the Electromechanical Engineering Faculty (after reorganization, part of the Institute of Energy, Electronics, and Electromechanics), majoring in Household Electrical Appliances.

After finishing secondary school, like most graduates, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to study or where to apply. I ended up at NTU “KhPI” almost by chance – but I have never regretted it! I submitted applications to several universities in Kharkiv and waited for the results. At first, I thought I would study at KhNUMG named after O.M. Beketov, but after a conversation with the Dean of the Electromechanical Engineering Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Voinov V.V., I changed my mind and decided to try life as a “Polytechnic” student. Since electrical engineering is present in every home, I realized that this specialization would remain relevant for many years.

And so the studies began – the first years were rather tough, but later, in the senior years, things became easier. Apart from studying, “Polytech” also offers a wide variety of leisure opportunities: a great sports complex with a swimming pool and gyms, the Student Palace hosting concerts, creative performances, and KVN shows, which we often attended with classmates, and much more.

The faculty and department staff are wonderful people and excellent mentors, always ready to understand and help in any difficult situation. During my studies, there were many positive moments that I will remember for years. If I had to mention anything negative, it would probably be classes until 8 p.m. during the evening schedule in the early years, and the absence of grass on the stadium field (which, by the way, has since been replaced!). But overall, everything was positive!

“Polytech” taught me to analyze and dive deep into technical problems, which helps not only at work but also in everyday life. The knowledge I gained at NTU “KhPI” also helped me when applying for a job. By the way, during the interview, one of the questions was about Kirchhoff’s laws!

Currently, I work at Kharkiv Metro as an electromechanic in the cable networks and lighting division.
