Department of

Information and measurement technologies and systems

Metrologists are specialists who control measuring equipment and supervise the quality of products. Metrology covers all areas of human activity. Metrologists check the compliance of measuring equipment with state and international requirements. Scales in a grocery store, an ATM in a bank branch, police radars “favorite” by drivers, water, gas, and electricity meters – they all undergo a technical inspection and inspection. True, in professional language, this process is called verification, that is, data comparison. A specialist in the specialization “Metrology and measuring equipment” is able to perform the tasks of operation and maintenance of control and measuring devices and measuring devices, metrological support of production, creation of test systems and systems of product quality assurance, development of computerized means of control and diagnostics, certification and attestation products.

Specialists in this area are in high demand among employers, so the metrologist profession has the right to be called a rare profession. Our graduates work in the following positions: engineer of control and measuring devices, engineer-metrologist, engineer-designer of measuring equipment, and other positions related to the development, production, operation, verification, calibration, repair and adjustment of measuring equipment in divisions specialized enterprises, in scientific and other organizations. Graduates who are inclined to research activities and have successfully completed their bachelor’s degree are given the opportunity to continue their studies at the department’s master’s degree.
