Information Systems named after V. O. Kravtsia

The “Information Systems” department was created on 06/30/1993 to train specialists in the field of information technologies in the direction of “Computer Sciences”. Professor Valery Oleksiyovych Kravets, vice-rector for academic work and international relations, has been appointed head of the department. The first graduation of bachelors (20 people) was carried out in 1997. Simultaneously with the existing direction, since 2001, the preparation of bachelors in the direction of “Telecommunications” has been started. The first graduation of bachelors (20 people) was carried out in 2005. During the 25 years of its existence, the department trained 950 bachelors, 550 specialists and 171 masters in two specialties.

The teaching staff of the department currently includes 6 professors, including 2 PhD candidates. and 1 Ph.D.-M.Sc., 6 associate professors, 5 senior teachers and 1 assistant. Employees of the department defended 2 doctoral theses (O.A. Serkov, P.E. Pustovoitov) and 5 candidate’s theses (V.S. Breslavets, L.O. Nikitina, O.V. Kasilov, P.E. Pustovoitov, Zavolodko G.E.).

At a high level, the traditions of the scientific school of the department are supported by its graduates. They continue their studies and engage in scientific work in the world’s leading institutions. In particular, in Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, etc.
