🔐 What is a KEP and why do applicants need it?
KEP – Qualified Electronic Signature. It has the same legal force as a handwritten signature.
For university admission in 2025, a KEP is required to submit documents online through the applicant’s electronic account.
Without it, submitting applications, contracts, or requesting benefits online is not possible.
🧾 What do you need to get a KEP?
- Passport
- Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Birth certificate (for minors)
- Parental consent form (for minors)
📱Option 1: Get a KEP through “Diia”
- Log in to the Diia app
- Select the “Diia.Signature” section
- Click “Create”
- Complete the face verification (selfie)
- Set a 5-digit code
- Done – your signature is active and ready to use.
You can sign documents directly in Diia or on government websites.
🏦Option 2: Through PrivatBank
- Log in to Privat24
- Select: All Services → Business → Download Certificate
- Confirm your personal details
- Choose where to save the key file
- Create a password
- Confirm the action via SMS
- You will receive the KEP certificate on screen and via email
ℹ️ Important Notes
- File formats: .jks, .dat, .p7s
- KEP is valid for 1 year; after that, a new one must be created
- The KEP password cannot be recovered. Keep it safe!
- You can have multiple KEPs – as an individual, as a private entrepreneur, or as a representative of a legal entity
- Do not share your key with others
✅Once you have a KEP, you will be able to:
- Submit your university application online
- Sign a contract
- Use electronic government services
