🤝 Collaboration with IT companies is a part of everyday learning
In 2018 (even before it became a trend), we created the Data Mining program, which combines mathematics, programming, and artificial intelligence. And in 2024 we’ve launched another one. Artificial Intelligence – for those who want to create AI solutions entirely from scratch. 🏆 Innovative methods of studying: we’ve not only been the first to introduce AI/DS programs but also changed the approach to education itself. CDIO education, a track system, project-based learning (PBL), mentoring, and dual education are all implemented in our educational programs. 🏆 Team of practitioners: over 70% of our teaching staff who teach IT disciplines have real-world experience working in IT companies, from Ukrainian leaders to international tech giants. They don’t just teach theory but solve real engineering problems on a daily basis. 📐 Mathematics is the basis for data science and artificial intelligence. Therefore, a true specialist of data science and AI must not only use data libraries but also understand the nature of models and algorithms. 📐 For our students, mathematics is not simply one of the courses but the foundation of their training in analytics and AI. From 30 to 70% (depending on the program) of the curriculum consists of mathematical disciplines: from classical analysis to modern methods of optimization, statistics, and modeling. 🧠 Our graduates don’t simply use already existing tools but understand how and why they work Each student has his or her own trajectory. This is where the real immersion begins – into the world of AI, cybersecurity, big data processing, business process analysis, or solutions engineering. 🧭 Your choice affects absolutely everything: your projects, internships, mentors, and your future career path. Students work with tools used by Google, Amazon, Meta, EPAM, and other market leaders. From their first year, they learn Python, SQL, C++, ML, AI tools, and cloud technologies. They study data processing, business process analysis, and cybersecurity. 👨💻 From their first year of study, students work on real-world industry challenges – from models to intelligent systems. The project-based learning format allows them not only to master theory but also to gain practical experience. Students create their own solutions, design projects, register patents, and launch startups. 📂 As a result, they have a portfolio even before their first job interview. Students complete part of their practical training directly in IT companies – this is part of dual education, which combines learning with the work in the partner companies. There, they not only are acquainted with the tools but also work on real cases together with the industry experts. The teachers at the CMAD department who teach the IT disciplines are practitioners in the IT industry. Thanks to this combination of theory, practice, and mentoring, students get real experience, relevant skills, and a competitive edge during their studying process. Among the additional opportunities is the ML-Week Winter School on machine learning. It unites students of leading Ukrainian universities to work on real-life problems in Computer Vision and Data Science. Participants work in teams using Python, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and other ML tools under the guidance of experienced practitioners. 👥 Team projects and practical experience From their first year, students work in teams on real projects – starting with analytics and moving on to AI solutions. They develop presentation, planning, role distribution, and business communication skills. 🏆 World-class competitions and hackathons 🤝 Meetings with IT experts 🧭 Personal educational trajectory Students choose some of their subjects independently, developing responsibility and self-management skills – key competencies for today’s professionals.. Our students participate in academic mobility programs, gain international experience, and study at the universities of Europe. 📚 International programs: Erasmus+ and others Studying at universities in Germany, Israel, Poland, and other European countries is a chance to acquire new skills, make new friends, and gain more experience. Students undergo a contest selection process, receive scholarships for living expenses, and all credits for their studies are transferred to NTU “KhPI.” 🇪🇺 Double degrees (under the “Data Mining” educational program) Starting in their second year, some students continue their studies at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität (Germany) and receive two degrees. The program is open to applicants from 2024–2025 who are legally residing in the EU and have a B1 level of German. 🇺🇦 Internal mobility Studying for a semester at another Ukrainian university without changing your major is an opportunity to see different approaches, broaden your horizons, and gain new experience.
