A final qualification work is a work, based on the defense of which the Examination Commission (EC) decides on the award of a bachelor’s or master’s academic degree and issues a diploma. The execution of a qualification work is an independent research conducted by the higher education seeker at the final stage of study at the University. The goal of the research is to ensure the objective control of the level of formed competencies and the ability to solve typical tasks of activity, as specified in the educational professional programs for the training of higher education seekers at the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education. The methodological guidelines define the general requirements for the content, structure, formatting, defense, and assessment criteria of the final qualification works of higher education seekers at the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education. General requirements for the execution of final qualification works STZVO-KhPI-2.01-2025 Criteria for assessing the quality of a bachelor’s final qualification work Criteria for assessing the quality of a master’s final qualification work Due to the circumstances of martial law (in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022, No. 64 “On the imposition of martial law in Ukraine”) and the complications for the conditions of study and preparation of final qualification works, the Procedure for organizing current, semester control and certification of higher education seekers using distance learning technologies at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was developed. The department of computer mathematics and data analysis has prepared formatting templates that take into account the aforementioned requirements, as well as the requirements for filling out title pages and assignments for the qualification work. The current version of these templates is provided to higher education seekers during their pre-diploma practice.

At the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute,” qualification works of higher education seekers of all degrees (bachelor, master) are subject to verification for academic plagiarism.
