For 85 years the department of “Lifting and Transporting Machines and Equipment” (LTM&E) has been maintaining a high level of specialist training in machine-building in the areas of design, research, and technology.

Education and qualification levels of graduates are bachelor and master.
The graduates are granted qualification:

at the bachelor’s level: bachelor in machinery engineering and bachelor in applied mechanics;
at the master’s level: professional in machinery engineering.

Specialties’ brief characteristic.
Speciality “Lifting and transporting, road-building, construction, and melioration machines and equipment” is aimed at professional training which is related to priority directions of technology development and enables, depending on qualification level obtained, to carry out scientific, engineering, technical, technological, control, educational work in the sphere of development, testing and exploitation, as well as certifying and introduction of new equipment, hoisting and transportation, road, construction, land reclamation, and other transport systems and equipment.
Speciality “Logistic systems engineering” is aimed at professional training which is related to priority directions of technology development and enables, depending on qualification level obtained, to carry out scientific, engineering, technical, technological, control, educational work in the sphere of hoisting and transportation systems and complexes, their interaction at various stages of technological processes of cargoes processing, packing, accounting, storage, distribution, servicing, and utilization on the basis of unified rules and norms.

Employment possibilities.
Specialists in these branches work in various organizations where they design or operate: cranes, road, construction, and land reclamation machine, loaders, moving staircases, roller systems, lifts, transporters, and other modern equipment for technologic logistics. The department has close contacts with universities of Germany, Romania, Hungary, and Poland. Four specialists work at engineer positions at FAM (Magdeburg, Germany), S.O. Kaverinskiy and D.O. Smolyaninov have presented dissertation theses for scientific degree of doctor-engineer at Magdeburg University, one graduate heads joint Ukrainian-German company installing hoisting and lifting equipment. A number of graduates have had their field-training in Germany.

The department of HM&E is part of Institute of Education and Science in Mechanical Engineering and Transport.

The department successfully trains highly qualified specialists for various countries all over the world.

Information for foreign applicants

Admittance of foreigners in accordance with international agreements, state programs, and other international obligations of Ukraine is carried out till December 15. For NTU “KhPI” students including those studying at the department of LTM&E there is a comfortable hostel No 7 which has been on top of the rating list of hostels for many years.
