Speciality’s brief characteristic. “Logistics systems engineering” speciality is aimed at professional training which is related to priority directions of technology development and enables, depending on qualification level obtained, to carry out scientific, engineering, technical, technological, control, educational work in the sphere of hoisting and transportation and complexes, their interaction at various stages of technological processes of cargoes processing, packing, accounting, storage, distribution, servicing, and utilization on the basis of unified rules and norms, development and exploitation of modern logistic systems’ automated equipment (at ports, strategic bases, stores, including for military actions in the units of General Staff of the Defense ministry of Ukraine). Training is carried out to access the following levels: bachelor, master.
Employment possibilities. Specialists in this branch work in various organizations where they design or operate: hoisting and transportation systems and complexes, their interaction at various stages of technological processes of cargoes processing, packing, accounting, storage, distribution, servicing, and utilization.
Specialists hold the positions of designers, technologists, production managers, market managers in designing and qualified support of introducing automated technological equipment at industrial, designing, research enterprises and institutions in various branches: machine building, automobile building, construction, transport, light, processing, chemical, electronic, and other industrial branches; they have supervising functions and those of production coordinators. In particular, engineers create multilevel logistic systems on the basis of microprocessor control for ports, head post offices, civil warehouses and military depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Service of emergency situations, which enhances the state’s mobilizing resources at times of crisis.
The training obtained enables a graduate in this specialty to solve various transportation problems, tasks on rational resources distribution, optimum stock management, tasks on investments, etc.
