Our specialty (142-01) is one of the most necessary in Ukraine. Specialists in this specialty are trained by the highly qualified teaching staff of our department.
WHO ARE WE COOKING?
The department prepares specialists needed for nuclear and thermal power engineering, power engineering, as well as specialists in automation and power equipment management.
Our graduates successfully work at nuclear, thermal power plants and other industrial enterprises, research and design institutes and design bureaus, as energy auditors and inspectors in the energy sector, and also provide consulting and engineering services.
During four years of study, students acquire a basic higher education and receive a bachelor’s degree, and during further studies at our Department of Steam Generator Construction – a full higher education and qualification or a master’s degree in the chosen specialization.
WHY IT IS RELEVANT
Energy is the most important industry of both our country and other countries of the world. Without its reliable and effective functioning, not only the development, but also the existence of any modern society, the work of industry, agriculture, and the provision of decent living conditions are impossible.
Nuclear and thermal power stations, which produce more than 90% of electricity, form the basis of the energy industry. Heat is provided by thermal power plants, large modern boiler houses, as well as local heat generating systems.
These objects need to be designed, adjusted, operated, and maintained. And this is exactly what we prepare our graduates for. In connection with the constant need for the energy industry, graduates of the institute are guaranteed employment by profession, and the prospects for career growth are practically unlimited – among our graduates are ministers of energy, directors of large thermal and nuclear power plants.

HOW WE TEACH
The audience
The auditoriums of the department are equipped with modern information and communication equipment using interactive technologies. Technical solutions for equipping auditoriums are in many cases unique. The equipment of educational classrooms is carried out with maximum consideration of the interior features of the room and depends on the requirements for functionality and the specifics of a specific classroom.
Laboratories
The educational laboratories of the institute are equipped with a complex of special modern equipment for conducting laboratory work, technical and scientific-experimental experiments. Our modern laboratories are equipped with the support of such leading companies as VIESSMANN, MAST-IPRA, UMMC. etc.
Practice
The institute effectively cooperates with nuclear and thermal power plants, operating industrial enterprises, where our students have the opportunity to acquire practical skills in their specialty.
Mobility
Study programs include the possibility for students to participate in academic mobility programs for study abroad and a dual degree program. This is realized with appropriate language training. Thanks to this, our students have the opportunity to receive additional education in higher educational institutions in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
