Mission
Creation of an innovative center of competence in the field of biomedical and rehabilitation engineering, which should coordinate the union of engineers, educators, students, local businesses, medical experts to solve the problems of inclusion, support the rehabilitation of military veterans and civilian victims of war.
Target
Development and implementation of innovative solutions and technologies in the field of rehabilitation engineering, orthotics, prosthetics and implantation, to promote the exchange of knowledge and cooperation between various stakeholders, in particular, the implementation of world scientific experience in Ukraine.
Tasks
- Educational component – ABME hub provides engineering consulting services and expert support to medical workers involved in the field of rehabilitation, orthotics and prosthetics, as well as engineering specialists in the field of biomedical applications.Among the elements of educational activity are advanced training courses, formation of educational content.
- Formation of a partner network in Ukraine – ABME hub should become a place for exchanging problems, ideas and features regarding the implementation of engineering solutions in the field of medical practice, as well as supporting engineering for rehabilitation tasks and inclusion
- Infrastructural provision of the laboratory with modern equipment, technology prototypes and software tools, its technical and expert support
Structure
ABME hub – physical is a laboratory for training and finding innovative technical solutions in the field of rehabilitation engineering, orthotics, prosthetics. Engineering solutions cover the challenges of biomechanics, biorobotics, biomedical sensing and wearable embedded electronics.
Specialist engineers are involved in the center
The creation and initial activity of ABME hub is planned to be implemented through a pilot grant project, regarding the development of competencies of the ABME hub team and the transfer of relevant good practices in the field of rehabilitation engineering for students and medical professionals.

- Development of a practical course based on American lectures and laboratory work.

- Making corrections for further improvement.
- Certification
- Issuance of certificates to participants of the pilot course.
