The Department of “Automobile and Tractor Engineering” took part in the scientific and career guidance STEM festival “Engineering of the Future”, which lasted from May 19 to 23 in Chernivtsi at the initiative of the Department of Education and Science of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration together with NTU “KhPI”.
The event was organized as part of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport (MIT) and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Power Engineering, Electronics and Electromechanics (IEEE) in order to familiarize young people with engineering areas through interactive demonstrations, quizzes and exhibitions.
In the direction of the department, students had the opportunity to conduct an interactive experiment during which:
- Measure the level of internal pressure in a car tire.
- Determine the dimensions of the tire footprint and the radial load on it.
- Calculate the area of the tire footprint spot and determine the calculated pressure in the tire.
- Explain the results of measurements and calculations.
