Throughout 2025–2026, the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” has been carrying out a research project, No. 2025.06/0063, entitled “Technology for Manufacturing a Thermally Stable Ceramic Substrate for Band-Pass Filters for Modern Radio-Controlled Equipment Systems,” with grant support from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.
The project aims to develop a new energy-efficient technology for synthesizing thermally stable, multiphase microwave dielectric ceramic materials based on selected phases and their various combinations within the BaO–MgO–ZrO₂–TiO₂ system. The developed materials are intended for use in monolithic band-pass filters that enable the operation of modern radio-electronic systems.
Research Relevance
Microwave dielectric ceramics are among the key materials used in modern radio electronics. They are used to manufacture dielectric filters and ultra-high-frequency (UHF) resonators, which provide the required frequency characteristics and ensure the stable operation of communication equipment.
These materials are essential for the development of mobile and satellite communications, radar systems, navigation, 5G technologies, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Particular requirements include temperature stability of dielectric properties, low loss levels, and the ability to manufacture compact, high-performance devices.
The project focuses on developing new ceramic compositions and improving technological approaches to their manufacture. The research results are expected to contribute to the development of materials with the microwave characteristics required for advanced radio-electronic systems, as well as to improve the energy efficiency of manufacturing processes.
