On January 12, 2025, the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering participated in the event “From Applicant to Student.”
The event featured not only the departments of the EEE Institute but also invited representatives of the Kharkiv Volunteer Union. The importance of the volunteer movement in Kharkiv was emphasized during the meeting.
The event was held in two formats: offline and online. School and college students who could attend in person gathered in the bomb shelter of NTU “KhPI,” where the event took place, while those who couldn’t attend in person participated online.
The event was opened by the director of the institute, Roman Tomashevskyi, who spoke about the institute’s specializations and employment prospects after graduating from NTU “KhPI.” Following this, students from the EEE Institute’s departments shared insights about their specializations and personal experiences in preparing for the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) and the admission process.
The Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering Department was represented by Vladyslav Siharev, a fourth-year student. He shared his journey from school to becoming a student, how he chose his specialization and department, and highlighted the benefits of studying in the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering at NTU “KhPI.”
Next, Larisa Shilkova, responsible for career guidance at the institute, gave an illustrated presentation about the 2025 university admission rules. She also addressed preparation for the NMT, its organization, and provided valuable advice to prospective applicants on successfully navigating each stage of the admission process.
In addition, the departments organized STEM demonstrations, where participants were shown models that explained the principles of equipment studied in the departments, physical laws, and brain-teasing puzzles to enhance cognitive skills.
At the end of the event, memorable prizes were raffled among both offline and online participants. According to feedback from attendees, the event was highly appreciated, and many expressed the opinion that such meetings should be held frequently, as they help future applicants make informed decisions about their future careers.
