The graduate is able to design, create and operate the rolling stock of highway and industrial rail transport as a whole and its components: internal combustion engines, electric machines and electric drive, mechanical part, power supply systems (traction electric stations and networks) and traffic control systems.
Training of students in these specialties is conducted with an orientation not only on traditional types of railway transport, but also on promising ones – high-speed wheeled for railways and high-speed magnetic levitating transport.
Specialists who have graduated from this department are in need of leading industrial enterprises of the country, manufacturers of railway transport, operating and repair enterprises of “Ukrzaliznytsia” and electricity supply services of railways of Ukraine.
Graduates of the department work at NPO “Dniprovsky Electric Locomotive Plant”, PJSC “Kryukiv Carriage Building Plant”, Poltava Locomotive Repair Plant, SE “Kharkiv Metropoliten”, SE “Zavod Elektrovazhmash”, Kharkiv Wagon Repair Plant, in scientific and educational institutions, railway depots, building modern systems power supply of high-speed highways of Ukraine.
