On October 16, 2025, a landmark online meeting took place, initiated by the Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.” The event welcomed students and teachers of the Regional Center for Vocational Education in Service Provision (RCVO-SP) from the town of Liubotyn. This meeting became an important bridge between secondary vocational and higher education, opening a full spectrum of opportunities for prospective applicants and their parents.
The purpose of the event was not only to familiarize participants with the degree programmes offered by the Department and the Institute of Power Engineering, Electronics, and Electromechanics, but also to provide comprehensive support in choosing a professional pathway. Experienced faculty members explained in detail the preliminary admission rules to higher education institutions for 2026, outlined the specifics of effective preparation for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT), and guided attendees through all stages of the admission process—from preparing the necessary documentation to the subtleties of calculating the competitive score.
A special emphasis was placed on presenting the Department’s promising degree programmes that train specialists for innovative sectors of the economy. Future applicants learned about curricula covering the development and operation of next-generation transport—from high-speed magnetic levitation trains to modern transport construction and logistics systems.
The online format of the event proved to be an advantage, demonstrating the university’s modern digital approaches to teaching and communication. The interactive presentation—including real-world examples, video materials, and visualizations of the most engaging student projects—transformed the meeting into an inspiring dialogue. Students and their teachers actively participated in discussions, asking questions about specifics of the educational process, competitive admissions, academic mobility opportunities, internships at leading industry companies, and the career trajectories of graduates.
A thematic quiz dedicated to railway transport became a bright finale to the meeting. Its participants included not only students but also their teachers, which created a unique atmosphere of healthy competition, enthusiasm, and shared interest. This part of the event was both enjoyable and informative, once again highlighting the attractiveness of the chosen field.
The Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering sincerely thanks the administration and staff of the vocational institution Regional Center for Railway Transport and Agrotechnical Service Education for their excellent preparation and organization of the meeting. Special thanks go to Director Olha Oleksandrivna Ahieieva and Senior Master Yuliia Kostiantynivna Yakovenko. Your daily pedagogical work is the solid foundation upon which future innovators build their success.
This event is far more than just a stage of career orientation. It is an important step toward building a strong educational community where every learner feels supported and has a clear vision of their future. The Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering will continue to serve as a guide for those who boldly choose the path of technical creativity and strive to bring ambitious ideas to life. Together, we are building a future where engineering thought drives progress!
