From Dream to Profession: KPCTIS College Students Get a Closer Look at NTU “KhPI”

On 11 December 2025, the Department of Electrical Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering of the National Technical University “KhPI” held another traditional online meeting with students of the Kremenchuk Professional College of Transport Infrastructure and Technologies. These career-orientation events have become an important link between professional secondary and higher education, as each time they are held in an engaging, informative, and productive way.

College students who have chosen their path in the transport sector and aspire to grow in the field of railway technologies once again demonstrated their activity and interest. They listened attentively to the presentations delivered by the department’s lecturers, asked insightful questions, and actively discussed innovations, modern trends, and challenges shaping the future of railway transport. For many of them, this was a unique opportunity to get acquainted in advance with the university where they plan to continue their studies.

The meeting began with a substantial presentation by the Head of the Department, Professor Borys Hryhorovych Liubarskyi, who spoke about the department’s long history as one of the leading in Ukraine. He presented current scientific research, international projects, cooperation with industry enterprises, and outlined prospects for further development. The professor emphasized that even under martial-law conditions, the quality of the educational process remains high, and the department continues to train specialists in demand both in Ukraine and abroad.

An important part of the meeting was familiarizing the students with the preliminary admission rules to NTU “KhPI” for 2026. Prospective applicants were briefed on the key stages of the admission campaign, deadlines, and specific requirements, enabling them to plan their preparation in advance and confidently take the next step toward enrollment.

Equally interesting was the presentation of the department’s specializations and educational programs. Students learned what kinds of engineers are trained at KhPI, which academic disciplines they will study, in which scientific fields — from traction energy efficiency to digital transport control systems — research is conducted, and what career opportunities await graduates.

A traditional highlight of the meeting was a themed Kahoot quiz dedicated to railway technology, history, and fascinating facts about the field. The interactive format created a spirited and competitive atmosphere, and the winner received a commemorative prize from the department.

The Department of Electrical Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering of NTU “KhPI” sincerely thanks the administration of the Kremenchuk Professional College of Transport Infrastructure and Technologies — in particular, Director Iryna Mykolayivna Bilokon — for the excellent organization of the event, their support, and the long-standing fruitful cooperation aimed at preparing new generations of qualified specialists for the transport industry.
