As part of the career guidance activities conducted by the Department of Electric Transport and Diesel Locomotive Engineering (ETT) at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”), an online meeting with students of the Poltava Professional Transport Lyceum took place on December 26, 2024.
The meeting had been postponed several times due to air raid alerts in the Poltava region but eventually went ahead, inspiring everyone involved. The fact that the event was held despite various challenges demonstrates the keen interest of both the lyceum students and the department’s faculty in such gatherings. These meetings have become a regular occurrence, even during wartime.
During the event, the students were introduced to the new university admission rules for 2025 in Ukraine. They received clear explanations on effective preparation methods and strategies for successfully passing the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT). All the nuances of the NMT process were thoroughly covered.
The attendees listened with great interest to the faculty members, who spoke about the department’s specializations and the university as a whole. They addressed numerous questions regarding studying in their respective fields, admission requirements, and the NMT process. Particular interest was shown in NTU “KhPI’s” railway specialties, which is understandable as the ETT Department offers the opportunity to continue education along a chosen professional path. The faculty answered all the students’ questions.
At the end of the event, a quiz related to railway transport and technology was held. The winners of the quiz received memorable prizes from the department.
On behalf of the department and the entire NTU “KhPI,” we express our gratitude to the lyceum administration for the excellent organization of the meeting, with special thanks to Petro Leontiyovych Sintyay, a top-category teacher at the Poltava Professional Transport Lyceum.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided that, under favorable conditions, an offline meeting would definitely be organized in the spring, hosted at NTU “KhPI.”
