On January 9, 2025, the Department of Electric Transport and Locomotive Engineering participated in the event “Winter Break with Polytech: Are You Ready for the NMT? Test Your Strength.” This time, preparation for the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) was offered, which is especially important ahead of the registration period, set to begin soon. “Winter Break with Polytech” took place online in the format of Kahoot quizzes from January 6 to January 10, 2025, running daily.
Representatives from various departments conducted quiz tests on the subjects that future applicants will take for the NMT, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and more. The ETT Department hosted a physics quiz titled “Conservation Laws in Mechanics.” The importance and significance of physics knowledge in a technical university are well known, so all Kahoot players can be considered potential future applicants to NTU “KhPI.” This preparation of students for the NMT is the core purpose of such events.
The physics quiz covered critical and fascinating topics such as the law of conservation of momentum, mechanical energy (potential and kinetic), and elastic and inelastic collisions. Participants enthusiastically answered the questions, and like in any quiz, there were winners: Artem Raichuk claimed first place, followed by Iryna Kovbasiuk and Diana Shakhvali.
However, this was only the first stage of preparation. Two more stages await the participants. The department wishes success to all participants of “Winter Break with Polytech” in the upcoming stages, as well as successful completion of the NMT and admission to NTU “KhPI.”
