The Day of Unity of Ukraine is celebrated every year on January 22, the day when the Act of Union between the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic was proclaimed. This event became a symbol of the desire of Ukrainians for unity and their own statehood. The unity of Ukraine means not only territorial integrity, but also common values, historical memory and responsibility for the future of the country.
