International activity

International cooperation is an important component of the training of a modern marketing specialist. Participation in international educational and scientific projects, academic mobility programs give students and lecturers the opportunity to gain the best global practices of organizing business processes, establish useful business relationships, improve their knowledge of foreign languages, and broaden their horizon in general.

Thanks to their hard work, as well as excellent knowledge of the English language, some students of the department were able to finish the spring semester in European universities with an international scholarship under the Erasmus+ program.

Zatynaichenko (group BEM-920a) and 4th year Sushko Yelizaveta (group BEM-918a) graduated from the spring semester (2021/2022) at Magdeburg University Otto von Guerike ” (Germany).

Our students shared their impressions of studying at European universities.

Zatynaichenko , 2nd year: “It seems that all my conscious life I wanted to study at one of the European universities and be surrounded by students from different countries of the world! And now my wish came true. The first impression of Magdeburg can be summed up in one word “Wow”. Very beautiful architecture and modernity of the city, a large number of trees and smiling people caused joy. We were accommodated in a dormitory, it was the first time I encountered such a variety of nationalities and languages, it was “a little scary” at first, but I managed to meet bright personalities who told me about life in Magdeburg. Gradually getting used to life in a new city, I began to enjoy the active life of a student.

Each building has modern equipment for conducting lectures and practices, writing on the blackboard was rare – mostly couples were led by presentations. The teachers were happy to help with questions, if there were any. We chose the subjects ourselves and made our schedule – it is very convenient, subjects had to be registered on special platforms. They made a separate English course for us (my English level was assessed as B2) and it helps me a lot to improve my English.

The university organized various events for students. It was also necessary to register for the events, but this is optional.

In conclusion, I would like to thank NTU “KhPI”, the directorate of ESI EMIB, the Department of Marketing for the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus + program – this is a very valuable experience for future work, and thank Otto von Guericke University for the opportunity to study with them, I hope that the experience gained in Germany will help me in the future.”

Sushko Liza, 4th year: “I had a dream to study abroad when I was still at school. First of all, it is connected with the love of learning something new. The first thing I noticed after arriving in Magdeburg was the large number of parks and the harmonious combination of nature and the city. The city is very quiet and peaceful, no one is in a hurry. However, you need to get used to the number of bicycles and the rules of behavior on the sidewalks. In the evening, the city is very beautiful, there is no light masking, you can enjoy beautiful views of Magdeburg at night.

At the university, we were tested on our knowledge of the English language, my English level was assessed as C1, and they gave me permission to study another foreign language, namely German. I think it is very good when you know two foreign languages – you have more opportunities in the future.

Before starting studies at the university, we had to choose the subjects we were interested in studying. The university also organized various events for students. One of these events was “Vyzybali”, this is an additional opportunity to practice fluency in a foreign language and make new friends. We haven’t had time to attend other events yet. In conclusion, I would like to say that I am grateful to NTU “KhPI”, the directorate of ESI EMIB, the Department of Marketing for the opportunity to study here. It’s just a priceless experience that will help me become better.”

Oleksandra Petrivna Kosenko, Professor of the Department, Doctor of Economic Sciences, as part of the pedagogical mobility of the Erasmus+ international program, completed an internship in Hungary, the city of Miskolc, in April, 2022 . During the internship, she held several meetings with scientists and outstanding teachers of the University of Miskolc, held a lecture and attended the classes of other teachers (Sabolch Nagy, Marianne Shomoshi, Andrea Gubik), prepared in co-authorship with Hungarian scientists a scientific article for publication in an international journal.

Tamara Zhivotchenko studied international management at the Würzburg- Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (FHWS) in her third year during the semester (2020). The internship took place within the framework of the academic mobility program ERASMUS +. The purpose of the trip was to improve her language skills, learn new subjects and get to know life in Germany. During the internship, Tamara got to know people from different countries of the world, with whom she still keeps in touch. And, most importantly, she has improved her English and now speaks German well. She believes that it was an excellent experience, because she gained new knowledge not only in the field of economics, but also in management. Despite the fact that her level of English was very high, at first it was difficult for her to get used to it, because in NTU “KhPI” all the terminology is in Ukrainian, so the first days I had to sit and learn new words necessary for further studies. Of course, the knowledge acquired at NTU “KhPI” helped: she easily understood the content of the disciplines, and supported the discussion in Germany.

Tamara immediately got into a company where there were people from different countries of the world. In this regard, she was forced to speak only English, which she considers a huge advantage. Also, she traveled a lot in Germany and managed to see a lot. For example, she signed up for the WurzburgNetwork club , where various excursions were organized for foreign students. The most memorable event of the trip is the Biergarten : such informal meetings where students can talk to any teacher, dean, rector on an equal footing and learn all the information they need.

In the framework of international cooperation, educational visits of students to the Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) and the University of Bradford (Great Britain) were carried out.

Thanks to the developed international relations, the department’s lecturers and students have undergone and have the opportunity in the future to undergo internships and studies at foreign universities. For better adaptation of students and graduates of the department abroad, part of professional disciplines are taught in English.
