Admission requirements:
Persons who have obtained a master’s degree or the educational and qualification level of a specialist are accepted to study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at National Technical University “KhPI”.
Conditions of entry:
People who have obtained a master’s degree or the educational qualification level of a specialist are admitted to study for the degree of doctor of philosophy at NTU “KhPI”.
Admission to study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy is carried out based on the results of the entrance exams, which consist of:
– entrance exam in the specialty (in the scope of the master’s degree program in the relevant specialty) — not less than 100 points;
– an entrance exam in a foreign language (English, German or French) in the amount that corresponds to level B2 of the All-European recommendations on language education. The condition for admission to the foreign language entrance exam is the successful completion of the EVI in 2023 or 2024 with a foreign language test score of at least 130 points.
An entrant who has confirmed his level of knowledge of the English language with a valid certificate of TOEFL tests, or the International English Language Testing System, or a Cambridge English Language Assessment certificate (not lower than level B2 of the All-European Recommendations on Language Education or a similar level); of the German language – a valid TestDaF certificate (not lower than level B2 of the All-European Recommendations on Language Education or a similar level); of the French language – with a valid DELF or DALF test certificate (not lower than level B2 of the All-European recommendations for language education or a similar level), is exempt from taking the entrance exam in a foreign language. When determining the results of the competition, the specified certificates are equated to the results of the foreign language entrance exam with the highest score. Based on the results of the entrance test, one positive grade is assigned on a scale of 100–200 (in increments of at least one point) or a decision is made on negative evaluation (“unsatisfactory”) The results of entrance exams for postgraduate studies are valid for admission to NTU “KhPI” for one calendar year.
For the competitive selection of persons entering the postgraduate program of NTU “KhPI”, the competitive score is calculated according to the formula:
KB = 0.6 C + 0.4 I,
where KB is a competitive score;
C – the score of the entrance exam in the specialty;
And – the score of the entrance exam in a foreign language.
Entrants to postgraduate studies submit the following documents:
- application for participation in competitive selection to NTU “KhPI”:
- a copy of the state-style document on the obtained master’s degree or the educational and qualification level of a specialist, and an appendix to it;
- a copy of a document certifying identity and citizenship (entrants to the day form (budget) submit two copies);
- two color photos 3×4 cm;
- a note about the interview of the scientific supervisor, which is planned with the applicant ;
- identity card ;
- autobiography ;
- a list of scientific works and scientific achievements (or an abstract according to the direction of the dissertation);
- consent to the collection and processing of personal data ;
- an agreement on the training of a higher education candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (2 copies);
- two copies of the identification code (IC);
- a declaration of compliance with academic integrity ;
- notification of non-accredited specialties .
