The Department of Physics is one of the oldest departments of NTU “KPI” with its rich history and scientific traditions. The main task of the department is the fundamental training of future specialists in various fields of science, technology, industry and education.
The strategic objective of the department is to improve the quality of education, provide fundamental training and knowledge that is the basis of higher special education, involve students in research work.
Specific areas of research are implemented by the department’s research laboratories and groups.
The main attention is paid to the quality of the educational process and its methodological support. A special research educational and methodological laboratory has been created and is actively operating, whose research relates to various areas of student teaching methods and the development of their creative abilities.
The high level of teaching staff allows the department to solve any educational problems. The department has created original lecture courses in general physics, theoretical physics, solid state physics, fundamentals of thermoelectricity, physical fundamentals of strength, electron microscopy, specialized physics courses for students of various specialties of NTU “KPI”. Physics courses are taught in English to international students.
The laboratory workshop is an experimental basis for mastering the content of the laws of nature, measurement skills, and the use of various measuring devices.
