From May 13 to 16, 2026, the XXXIV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Information Technologies: Science, Engineering, Technology, Education, Health” (MicroCAD–2026) was successfully held at NTU “KhPI”. The event, timed to coincide with the Days of Science in Ukraine, traditionally brought together leading scientists, researchers, engineers and educators from different countries. In today’s conditions, the conference has become a powerful platform for exchanging experience and presenting the results of fundamental and applied research, confirming the high scientific potential of Kharkiv Polytechnic.
The conference began on May 13 with a solemn plenary session. The main emphasis was the report of the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Denis Kurbatov, on the topic “Transformation of the Scientific Sphere of Ukraine. Main Steps: May 2026”. During the plenary session, international speakers and representatives of leading scientific and educational organizations also spoke, emphasizing the importance of integrating Ukrainian innovations into the global research space.
The work of the section dedicated to mechanical engineering and transport, which was held at the Department of Automotive and Tractor Engineering, attracted particular attention and lively scientific discussions. Researchers presented a number of in-depth reports focused on optimizing the operation of automotive and tractor equipment.
Among the key areas considered at the sectional meetings:
- Traction and coupling properties and interaction with the soil: In-depth scientific analyses were presented on the effectiveness of using tractor tires in comparison with tracked vehicles. A significant part of the research focused on the mathematical substantiation of methods for reducing pressure on the soil and preventing its over-compaction during agricultural work, in particular through rational ballasting of tractors.
- Modeling of units and aggregates: Scientists demonstrated modern approaches to the design of transmission components. Separately, works devoted to the development of algorithms and simulations in the mathematical modeling environment (in particular, MATLAB) for analyzing the operation of units and increasing the overall reliability of vehicles were highlighted.
- Diagnostics and repair: Innovative methods of maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of modern road transport were considered, which is of critical importance for maintaining the transport infrastructure.
Based on the results of the XXXIV International Scientific and Practical Conference MicroCAD-2026,
The conference once again proved its effectiveness as a platform for testing new ideas. The presented mathematical models, scientific justifications for the modernization of vehicles and educational developments will soon be implemented in the educational process of NTU “KhPI” and proposed for implementation in the real sector of the Ukrainian economy.
