Open Day 2026: Meeting with Field Experts – Robotics and 3D Printing in Automation

As part of the event “Open Day 2026: Meeting with Employers,” another engaging discussion took place between a representative of our department and a specialist in 3D printing.

Professor Andrii Zuiev, Head of the Department of Automation and Control in Technical Systems, presented the new interdisciplinary educational program in robotics, “Intelligent Cyber-Physical and Robotic Systems.” This program combines the strong foundations of classical education in automation and robotics with computer science, with a particular emphasis on robotics. In his presentation, he highlighted the growing importance of rapid prototyping skills and the ability to design and manufacture components and systems for practical robotic applications.

Invited 3D printing expert Kyrylo Halliamov discussed the specific applications of 3D printing in automation. He shared his personal professional journey into the field of 3D modeling and additive manufacturing, and explained how these skills can be applied to prototyping and the practical production of robotic and cyber-physical systems.

The NTU “KhPI” Open Days series is a large-scale career guidance initiative that, throughout April 2026, brings together on a shared online platform members of the university’s academic and research staff, professionals from leading Ukrainian and international companies, and prospective students. Participants have the opportunity to explore the university’s educational programs, learn about career prospects, internship opportunities, and current labor market requirements directly from employers. The event serves as a platform for open dialogue between education, industry, and young people, helping prospective students make informed decisions about their future profession and educational pathway.
