A meeting between students, academic staff, and representatives of Kernel, one of the leading companies in Ukraine’s agro-industrial sector, was held at the Department of Biotechnology, Biophysics and Analytical Chemistry of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”.
The event was organized within the framework of systematic stakeholder engagement in ensuring the quality of educational programs in specialty G21 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering”. During the meeting, current trends in the development of the biotechnology sector, employer expectations for modern specialists, and career opportunities for graduates were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the improvement of educational components (EC), alignment of program learning outcomes (PLOs) with labor market needs, and the development of professional (specialized) competencies (PCs) of students. Representatives of Kernel provided expert recommendations on enhancing the practical orientation of training, expanding internship opportunities, and involving students in real industrial case studies.
The meeting was conducted in an open dialogue format, facilitating active exchange of ideas and the identification of new directions for cooperation between the university and industry partners.
The outcomes of the meeting will be taken into account in the processes of monitoring and periodic review of educational programs, in line with modern approaches to quality assurance in higher education.
