The research activity of the department continues within the framework of investigations under the NATO program “Science for Peace and Security”. Professor D. Breslavsky presented a report at the 5th international conference “Computational Methods for Multi-scale, Multi-uncertainty and Multi-physics Problems”, which was held in Porto (Portugal) on July 1-4, 2025. The report was prepared basing on the results of investigations of D. Breslavsky and O. Tatarinova in collaboration with professors H. Altenbach and F. Pellicano from the universities of Magdeburg (Germany) and Modena (Italy). This conference brings together researchers in the field of Applied Mathematics, Information Technologies and various branches of Physics. The conference discusses new results obtained in the direction of applying new computational methods and developed software applications. The report by D. Breslavsky, O. Tatarinova, H. Altenbach and F. Pellicano was devoted to the use of multi-scale methods to solve the problems of determining the deformed state and the possibility of failure of structural elements made from metals and metamaterials.
