All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Applied Linguistics

🏛️ Triumph on home turf: ICS students lead the way in the Applied Linguistics Olympiad

2014 was another important milestone in the scientific life of the Department of Intelligent Computer Systems. Our students confirmed their high qualifications by winning the main prizes in the first round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Applied Linguistics. ✨💻

This competition is one of the most difficult for future specialists, as it requires not only in-depth knowledge of language theory, but also the ability to apply mathematical methods and algorithms for processing linguistic data.

🏆 Our winners:

🥇 First degree diploma — Oleksii Musienko (group IF-81) Oleksii demonstrated the best result by solving complex tasks in computer modelling of language processes.

🥈 Second degree diploma — Hanna Chalyuk (group IF-81) Hanna took the honourable second place, demonstrating remarkable analytical skills in the field of structural linguistics.

Why are these victories significant? Applied linguistics is the foundation for the creation of modern technologies: from intelligent search engines to speech recognition systems and artificial intelligence. The victory of our students in the first round of the Olympiad proves that the Department of Information and Communication Systems trains specialists who are able to compete at the highest national level.

Congratulations to Oleksii and Hanna on their well-deserved awards! 🎊 We wish you new scientific discoveries and successful conquest of digital linguistic heights!
