On 20 May, the event we’d all been eagerly awaiting finally took place! As part of the Science Day celebrations, ESI SHT held a round table discussion entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence and the University of the Future’ 🤖💻.
How exactly is artificial intelligence transforming the modern university? What opportunities does it open up for lecturers and students, and what challenges do we need to overcome today? Lecturers, postgraduate students and linguistics students sought answers to these questions. The session turned into a real intellectual battle — a flood of questions from the audience, lively debates about the future of the profession and real-life case studies of technology use! 🔥
🚀 Experts from the Department of Information and Communication Systems and colleagues delivered powerful presentations:
🔹 Babkova N.V. (PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Information and Communication Systems) explored in detail the topic ‘Personalisation of AI at the university: memory, context and responsible use’. The audience actively discussed how to teach generative AI to maintain the context of individual research and where the limits of AI memory lie.
🔹 Kupriyanov E.V. (PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor of the Department of Information and Communication Systems) presented a report entitled ‘The practice of using Gemini chatbots in the educational process’. This was a purely practical case study on EdTech, organising interaction with students using AI, and improving the effectiveness of learning.
🔹 V.V. Malikov (PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian History and Culture) raised a critically important topic: ‘Ethical aspects of using AI in academic work’. Everything was discussed — from copyright on generated texts to academic integrity and verifying fake sources.
The event proved once again that ESI SHT is at the forefront of introducing artificial intelligence into education. Our students and lecturers are not merely observing the technological revolution; they are leading it! 💎🛸
Thank you to everyone for taking part in this incredible discussion!
Here’s to more scientific breakthroughs! 🚀
