🎓 Studying at the CMAD Department: Projects, Practice, Innovation

The lecturers at the CMAD Department are true professionals, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. More than 70% of them simultaneously work in ІТ companies, allowing students to acquire up-to-date knowledge and in-demand skills

Project-Based LearningDual EducationEducational laboratories

The EP  “Artificial Intelligence” is built on the CDIO Initiative approach

(Conceive ➡️ Design ➡️ Implement ➡️Operate),

which is used in engineering education to train specialists capable of developing and implementing complex technical systems.

The CDIO concept is implemented through а sequence of integrated academic and real-world projects. Thus, project-based learning runs in parallel with theoretical studies, allowing students to develop soft skills, including:

-teamwork role

-distribution

-interpersonal communication

The CMAD Department actively collaborates with leading ІТ companies in Ukraine, ensuring а practical focus in education and the relevance of the knowledge acquired.

Students undertake internships and practical training in research centers and R&D departments of top companies, working on real projects and modern technologies.

Most of the department’s lecturers combine teaching with work in ІТ companies. As а result, students gain not only academic knowledge, but also practical experience aligned with current market demands. Thanks to this, many students receive job offers even before graduation and gain а competitive advantage in employment.

Part of the learning process takes place in the «Innovation Campus» laboratory, where students master modern technologies and work on real-world projects.

Some courses are taught in foreign languages, broadening the international prospects of graduates.

Almost a quarter of the faculty members at CMAD are coaches of winning teams in international programming and mathematics competitions and tournaments.

Expanding educational

International Academic MobilityInternal Mobility

Students have the opportunity to study at European universities through academic mobility programs. Each year, 2-5 top students can pursue studies at EU universities for a period ranging from one month to one semester.

🔹Erasmus+ Mobility Programs (student exchange programs):

✅Technion (Israel)

✅University of Freiburg (Germany)

✅Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Germany)

🔹Integrated Program with RWTH Aachen University (Germany)

Students have the opportunity to study at Ukrainian partner universities within the framework of academic mobility (without changing their educational program). This allows them to gain new experiences, become familiar with different teaching methods, and expand professional contacts. As part of the internal academic mobility program, students can study at:

✅Odesa Polytechnic National University (Odesa)

✅Dnipro University of Technology (Dnipro)

📢Academic results are recognized according to the ECTS system.

ІТ Activities beyond the classroom

At the СMAD Department, students not only study but also become part of a vibrant community where it is easy to find like-minded peers and friends. Working together on projects, participating in events, and engaging in informal communication help build connections that prove valuable both during studies and in future careers.

Support and MentorshipHackathons, Tournaments, OlympiadsМІ Week and Inter-University CollaborationMeetings with ІТ Experts

First-year students receive support through the student mentorship program. Senior students help them adapt to studies, navigate schedules, handle documentation, and get involved in student life.

Mentorship from lecturers and IT experts provides students with professional guidance, opportunities to develop real-world cases, and the chance to grow in their chosen field.

Students of the department actively participate in national and international IT competitions:

Programming and Mathematics Olympiads (ICPC, Eolymp Cup, University Cup, All-Ukrainiar Student Olympiads, Programming Grand Prix, etc.)

Hackathons and Technical Competitions (IEEEXtreme, AI FOR DEFENCE, etc.)

Innovation and Startup Competitions (CIG R&D LAB, etc.)

Participation in these events helps students develop technical skills and teamwork abilities. For many, it is also an opportunity to showcase their talents and gain recognition among employers.

Students of the department participate in interuniversity projects and educational initiatives that open up new opportunities in the fields of AI and Data Science.

ML WEEK – an interuniversity winter school where students from different universities work in mixed teams on real projects in AI and Data Science.

Joint research and educational initiatives – experience exchange with other universities.

Access to cutting-edge technologies and trends, along with opportunities to present original projects to experts and potential employers.

These activities help students gain valuable contacts, real-world experience, and build а portfolio of cases in AI and Data Science.

The CMAD Department regularly organizes meetings with leading ІТ specialists: startup founders, technical directors, and developers of cutting-edge technologies. Students learn about artificial intelligence, Web3, Big Data, modern career opportunities, and the journey from an idea to а successful product.

This is а real opportunity to gain insights from professionals, ask questions, and establish valuable contacts for а future career.
