Educational-professional program (EPP) and educational and research program (ERP)“Intellectual Data Analysis” specializing in F1 “Applied Mathematics” in the field F “Information Technology” were developed taking into account the experience of leading world universities
✅Intellectual information retrieval
✅Data processing and visualization
✅Analysis of signals and images
✅Knowledge extraction, forecasting, and decision making
The educational programs have combined long-standing traditions of training highly qualified applied mathematicians with modern trends in education in the field of computer information technologies.
Some educational components are taught in foreign languages, which expands opportunities for international employment.
EPP “Intellectual Data Analysis” (duration of study 1 year 4 months) focuses on applied methods and technologies used in real projects. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Ukraine. Certificate – ND No. 8536 dated 28.05.2024, valid until July 1, 2029. More detailed information about the EPP “Intellectual Data Analysis” can be found via the link ERP “Intellectual Data Analysis” (duration of study 1 year 9 months) – in addition to applied issues, the fundamental mathematical and algorithmic aspects of data analysis methods are studied in greater depth. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Ukraine. Certificate – ND No. 8536 dated 28.05.2024, valid until July 1, 2029. More detailed information about the ESP “Intellectual Data Analysis” can be found via the link
Educational components of the EPP and ESP “Intellectual Data Analysis” are divided into compulsory and elective. According to the rules of free choice of academic disciplines at NTU “KhPI”, students can form a personalized curriculum in accordance with their own professional interests.
Compulsory educational components include general training disciplines: ✅Innovative entrepreneurship and startup project management ✅Foreign language for professional purposes ✅Intellectual property ✅Knowledge extraction, forecasting, and decision-making As well as the disciplines of specialized (professional) training: ✅Mathematical methods of machine learning ✅Ill-posed problems of data processing ✅Nonlinear processes and models ✅Metaheuristic optimization methods ✅Fundamentals of scientific research Elective educational components are presented by: ✅Two specialized programs (“Intellectual Big Data Analysis” and “Intellectual Analysis of Texts and Images“), from which only one must be selected. ✅Disciplines of free choice of specialized training, from which two disciplines must be selected. ✅Three packages of general training (“Educational Component of Ukrainian Studies“, “Educational Component of Psychological Orientation ” and “Educational Component of Legal Orientation“), from which one discipline must be selected from two different programs. The KMA Department actively cooperates with leading IT companies in Ukraine, which guarantees the practical focus of education and the relevance of the acquired knowledge. Students undergo internships and practical training in research centers and R&D departments of top companies, working on real projects and modern technologies. Most of the department’s lecturers combine teaching with working in IT companies. Thus, students receive not only academic knowledge but also practical experience that meets modern market requirements. Thanks to this, many students receive job offers before graduation and have a competitive advantage in employment.
Students have the opportunity to study at Ukrainian partner universities within the framework of academic mobility (without changing the educational program). This allows them to gain new experience, get acquainted with different teaching methods, and expand their professional contacts. Within the internal academic mobility program, study is available at:
✅National University “Odesa Polytechnic” (Odesa)
✅National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic” (Dnipro)
The crediting of learning outcomes is carried out according to the ECTS system.
At the KMA Department, students not only study, but also become part of an active community where it’s easy to find like-minded people and friends. Collaborative work on projects, participation in events, and informal communication contribute to creating connections that will be useful both during their studies and in their future careers.
Students of the department take an active part in all-Ukrainian and international IT competitions: ✅Olympiads in programming and mathematics (ICPC, Eolymp Cup, University Cup, All-Ukrainian student olympiads and Grand Prix in programming, etc.) ✅Hackathons and technical competitions (IEEEXtreme, AI FOR DEFENCE, etc.) ✅Innovation and startup competitions (CIG R&D LAB, etc.) Participation in such events helps students develop technical skills and work in a team. For many, it is also a chance to make themselves known and gain recognition among employers. Students of the department take part in inter-university projects and educational initiatives that open up new opportunities in the fields of AI and Data Science. ✅ML WEEK – an inter-university winter school where students from different universities work in mixed teams on real projects in AI and Data Science. ✅Joint research and educational initiatives – exchange of experience with other universities. ✅Access to modern technologies and trends, presentation of their own developments to experts and potential employers. Such events help students gain valuable contacts, real experience, and build cases in the fields of AI and Data Science. The KMA Department regularly organizes meetings with leading IT industry professionals — startup founders, technical directors, and developers of advanced technologies. Students learn about artificial intelligence, Web3, Big Data, modern career opportunities, and the path from an idea to a successful product. This is a real opportunity to get insights from professionals, ask questions, and find valuable contacts for a future career.
Graduates of the EPP and ERP “Intellectual Data Analysis” work in the following positions:
✅Data Scientist / Data Engineer ✅Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer ✅Software Developer ✅Business Analyst ✅Data Science Specialist in Cybersecurity Areas of activity for graduates: 🔹IT companies and startups 🔹Banking and financial sector 🔹Analytics and research centers 🔹Consulting and scientific institutions Students can undergo certified training through international programs (Google Cloud, etc.), which helps them confirm their skills and increase their competitiveness.
