NTU “KhPI”: record funding and international recognition in 2025

A year of growth in applied research and international cooperation – this is how 2025 can be characterized for Kharkiv Polytechnic. The university received a record 110 million hryvnias in funding, which is 15% more than last year. Scientists achieved significant results in conducting research, publishing activity, patenting developments, and attracting international grants. The university topped the state certification rating in the engineering and technological direction and entered the top 5 HEIs in the natural sciences and mathematics. Special events of the year included online lectures by two Nobel Prize laureates in physics, which they delivered to Kharkiv Polytechnics. The university’s innovative ecosystem demonstrated its power: 65 startup projects were created, and three works by NTU “KhPI” received the Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists.

National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” has confirmed its status as one of the leading scientific and educational centers of Ukraine through high research results and effective financing of innovation. In 2025, the university attracted 110 million UAH for scientific initiatives, enabling it to expand applied research and support the innovation ecosystem. The share of the special fund increased to 42.5%, and in terms of budget financing, KPI took second place among Ukrainian universities. According to the results of the Ministry of Education and Science’s competitive selection, Kharkiv Polytechnic University ranked among the top 3 in the main selection of fundamental and applied research, among the works of young scientists, and within the program for frontline HEIs.
