The Third International Nonlinear Dynamics Conference (NODYCON 2023) Rome, Italy, June 18-22, 2023

In June 2023, Tetiana Shmatko took part in the Third International Conference on Nonlinear Dynamics (NODYCON 2023) in Rome.

This large-scale conference covers the scientific interests of leading scientists in the fields of Nonlinear Dynamics, Stability and Structural Dynamics, which were founded by the world-famous Professor Ali H. Nayfeh.

Associate Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics Tetyana Shmatko presented a scientific work on the topic “Nonlinear free vibrations of functionally graded porous sandwich plates with complex shape”, which was co-authored with a leading professor at the University of Sapienza of Rome Walter Lacarbonara. In addition, T. Shmatko was elected to the NODYCON 2023 organizing committee, where she worked on reviewing many scientific papers of the conference participants.

IV International Conference on Dynamics, Control and Applications to Applied Engineering and Life Science (DYCAELS)

In November 2023, Tetiana Shmatko participated online in the IV International Conference on Dynamics, Control and Applications in Applied Engineering and Life Sciences (DYCAELS 2023). This scientific event, which takes place every year and is organized by the famous Professor Jose. M. Balthazar (Brazil), brought together outstanding scientists and researchers who shared their experience and knowledge in the field of dynamics and control systems, management, innovation and applied areas of control and automation.

In 2023, Tetiana Shmatko was awarded a grant to conduct research work for four months at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) at the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” as a Visiting Professor.

Associate Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics Shmatko T.V. worked fruitfully as part of a research group led by Professor Francesco Pellicano. She took part in a practical experiment organized in the laboratory of the engineering department of Enzo Ferrari, analyzed the free oscillations of functionally gradient plates resting on an elastic base.

Cooperation with leading employees of the University of Modena

The practical results obtained confirmed a good agreement with the study, which was realized by the analytical approach. The developed approach, based on the use of the theory of R-functions and Ritz methods, was tested on many problems. The result of international cooperation was the scientific articleFree Vibration Analysis of Porous Functionally Graded Material Plates with Variable Thickness on an Elastic Foundation Using the R-Functions Method (Lidiya Kurpa, Francesco Pellicano, Tetyana Shmatko and Antonio Zippo), which was published in the journal Mathematical and Computational Applications and also became a Cover Story for the next issue of the journal.
