The Department of Cross-cultural Communication and Foreign Language of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” together with Buckinghamshire New University (High Wycombe, GB), HESAM University (Paris, France), University of Ljubljana (Ljubljana, Slovenia) held the International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Student Personality Development in the Context of the New European Paradigm,” which was held online on
22 December 2023.
The purpose of the event: the humanization of education in Ukraine, that is, the need to train the teaching staff of Ukrainian higher education institutions following the new European paradigm to humanize the educational process and train competent specialists of a new generation.
The Head of the Department, Professor Tatiana Sergeeva, and Professor Dorin Festeu, Director of International Programmes at Buckinghamshire New University, opened the conference. There were speeches by colleagues from Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv. The meeting ended with a roundtable discussion. The main issues discussed were the current problems of modern education in Ukraine and Europe the formation of a new educational paradigm:
- Theoretical and practical principles
- The personality of a modern student and socio-cultural environment
- Training of a new generation of specialists
- The phenomenon of student competence in the context of a new paradigm
- Introduction of the European Paradigm in Ukraine
- Development of the teacher’s personality in the context of the new European paradigm
