The Department of Ceramics Technology continues its active work on improving the training of specialists in the fields of “Chemical Technology and Engineering” and “Modern Technologies of Building Materials.” During March–April 2026, a series of off-site meetings with stakeholders was held by the Head of the Department, Prof. Olena Yu. Fedorenko, and Professor Liudmyla P. Shchukina. The meetings took place at leading enterprises of the industry. The main purpose of the visits was to discuss the content of curricula and educational programs for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students.
During the visit to PJSC “Geberit Ceramic Production” (Slavuta, Khmelnytskyi region), a well-known Ukrainian manufacturer of sanitary ceramics, meetings were held with Plant Director R.A. Panasenko, Production Director L.P. Tkachuk, and employees of the technological division of the enterprise: Tetiana Bondar, Anna Bondar, and Oleh Pshevlodskyi. It is noteworthy that all of them are graduates of our department from different years.
During the constructive dialogue, industry representatives emphasized the importance of deeper study of resource-saving and energy-efficient technologies, as well as issues related to adapting the modern raw-material base of domestic enterprises to current challenges caused by the loss of well-known deposits and the growing need to use technogenic materials.
In April 2026, representatives of the department also met with stakeholders from Ukraine’s most advanced porcelain stoneware manufacturing enterprise — LLC “Epicentr Ceramic Corporation – Ceramic Tile Plant” (Kalynivka, Kyiv region). The discussion involved Production Director S.M. Plokhotiuk and New Product Implementation Technologist, PhD in Engineering, V.V. Tsovma — also a graduate of the department.
Industry representatives provided valuable recommendations regarding the expansion of the practical component of education. The department staff took into account partners’ proposals concerning the development of soft skills and managerial competencies for future engineers. The updated educational programs now include relevant case studies based on real technological challenges faced by modern manufacturing plants.
Cooperation with stakeholders confirmed that our educational standards meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. For prospective students, these changes guarantee the acquisition of practical knowledge highly demanded in the labor market.
The teaching staff also gained new directions for research activities integrated with the needs of the real sector of the economy.
We sincerely thank our partners for their professional expertise and willingness to support young specialists. The implementation of these initiatives will significantly increase the competitiveness of our graduates at both national and international levels. The department will continue its course toward close integration of education, science, and industry.
